Quick answer: Midea Malaysia's floor-standing range includes the non-inverter PA Series and the inverter LL Easy Comfort, both filed under light commercial. The right Midea floor standing aircon follows how long the space runs. Aircon Hero services all major brands including Daikin, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Midea, Acson, York and Carrier.

Which Midea floor standing aircon series suits your space?

Midea Malaysia's pages list the LL Easy Comfort 3.5HP as an inverter unit in its Premium tier and the PA Series 2.5HP as a non-inverter unit in its Standard tier. A space cooled for long hours points to the first; occasional use points to the second.

Why does the inverter matter more in some spaces than others?

A non-inverter unit such as the Midea PA Series runs its compressor at full speed and switches off and on to hold the set temperature. Midea says its inverter unit adjusts compressor speed instead, which matters most in a space cooled for long hours; a space used now and then gains less from it.

Midea also lists faster cooling and more precise temperature control for the LL Easy Comfort.

What should be settled before installation day?

Settle the capacity, the position, the condenser route and the power supply before anyone cores a wall or an order is placed. Capacity comes from the space's heat load; the position decides where the cabinet stands and where the outdoor condenser goes.

The guide to how many HP a floor-standing aircon needs covers capacity, and the floor-standing installation survey covers the route. Leave space in front of a PA Series cabinet, which draws its air in at the front.

What does the first month with a new Midea unit look like?

In the first month, learn what normal looks like. Midea's PA Series page says the unit restarts by itself after a sudden power failure on its previous setting, and shuts itself down to protect the system during abnormal operation, showing an error code. The restart is normal; a repeated shutdown is a technician's job.

The owner's task is the filter. Switch the unit off and switch off at the isolator before opening any cover, then wash the filter as the Midea manual says or whenever it looks dusty, and refit it only when fully dry.

Note any error code with its time. If water reaches a socket or a plug feels hot, switch off at the DB or main switch if it is safe, and do not touch the plug.

What happens at the first service on a Midea floor-standing unit?

The first service is where a technician cleans what the owner cannot reach. Aircon Hero's general recommendation is a service every 3 months for residential units and every 1 to 2 months for commercial units. The coil, blower, drain and outdoor unit are technician work, set out on the floor-standing aircon service page.

Before the visit, clear a path to the cabinet and outdoor unit, and have any noted error codes ready. While the unit is under Midea's warranty, contact Midea first. Aircon Hero is an independent aircond service company, not a Midea service centre, and quotes floor-standing work after the technician sees the unit; the customer approves the quote before work starts.

Choose by running hours and keep the first service on the calendar

Diarise the first service from the installation date. Homes can use residential aircond services, and premises with several units commercial aircond maintenance. For the unit itself, book a floor-standing aircon service, send the model and a photo through the contact page, or WhatsApp +60 18-355 5162.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Midea Malaysia lists Standing and Ceiling & Floor as two separate light-commercial categories, so they are different indoor unit types. Check the category and the model printed on your unit's rating label before booking any work.

Midea's LL Easy Comfort page says its larger fan and motor blow cool air up to 9.5 metres, with an air volume of 1500 m³/h. That throw only helps when shelving and partitions stay out of its path.

Midea's page says the LL Easy Comfort fan speed can be set in 1% steps from the remote controller or the SmartHome app, so airflow can be fine-tuned between a quiet evening and a crowded gathering.

Midea calls this Auto Dedusting. Its LL Easy Comfort page says that once the air conditioner is switched off, the outdoor fan blades automatically reverse to remove accumulated dust. A fan turning backwards after switch-off is that feature working.

No. Midea describes I-Clean on the LL Easy Comfort as a self-cleaning cycle using frost cleaning that lasts 42 minutes. It does not wash the filter, clear the drain line or check the outdoor unit, so regular servicing still applies.

Midea's PA Series page describes Golden Fin as an anti-corrosion coating on the fin that helps heat transfer. The coating sits on the coil behind the grille, so cleaning there is technician work, not an owner's job.
